Summary

CVE-2023-5088 is a vulnerability in QEMU that could allow an attacker to overwrite the boot code of a virtual machine (VM) by redirecting a guest I/O operation to offset 0 instead of the intended disk offset. This vulnerability affects various products including exhcGF, d0rE62, c5cVNU, and XL7yXI. To remediate this vulnerability, users are advised to update to the latest version of QEMU. The potential danger of this vulnerability is high as it could be exploited by an attacker with low privileges to gain control over the hypervisor and potentially compromise the entire organization's infrastructure.
