Summary
CVE-2023-50723 is a vulnerability affecting the XWiki Platform, a widely-used wiki solution. Before versions 14.10.15, 15.5.2, and 15.7-rc-1, this platform failed to properly escape code in its administration interface. As a result, any user with editing permissions could introduce malicious scripts, posing a significant risk to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the entire XWiki installation. This issue can be exploited by modifying arbitrary wiki pages, including user profile pages, which are typically accessible to all users. The vulnerability has been rectified in the aforementioned patches, and system administrators are advised to apply these updates to mitigate the risk.
