Summary

CVE-2023-50710, a vulnerability affecting the Hono web framework written in TypeScript, allows clients to override named path parameter values from previous requests. This can potentially be exploited by privileged users to use unintended parameters when deleting REST API resources. The vulnerability occurs when the application is using TrieRouter, either explicitly or when the application matches a pattern not supported by the default RegExpRouter. The issue has been fixed in version 3.11.7, and as a workaround, it is recommended to avoid using TrieRouter directly. The vulnerability has a base severity of MEDIUM and a base score of 4.2 according to CVSS:3.1 scoring system, with an exploitability score of 1.6 and an impact score of 2.5.
