Summary

CVE-2023-5048 is a vulnerability affecting the WDContactFormBuilder plugin for WordPress versions up to and including 1.0.72. This vulnerability is classified as a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue, resulting from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the 'id' user-supplied attribute of the 'Contact_Form_Builder' shortcode. Authenticated attackers with contributor level and above permissions can exploit this vulnerability to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages that will execute when accessed by users. The vulnerability has a risk score of 25 and a base severity rating of MEDIUM. The affected products include various versions of aq_jp and aq_kZ plugins for WordPress. To remediate this vulnerability, users are advised to update their WDContactFormBuilder plugin to a version beyond 1.0.72.
