Summary
CVE-2023-50430 is a vulnerability affecting the Goodix Fingerprint Device used in Dell Inspiron 15 computers. This issue arises due to the device's failure to adhere to the Secure Device Connection Protocol (SDCP) during Linux enrollment. Instead, it accepts an unauthenticated configuration packet, enabling an attacker to select the Windows template database. By doing so, they can effectively bypass Windows Hello authentication by enrolling their own fingerprint.
