Summary

CVE-2023-50430 is a vulnerability that affects the Goodix Fingerprint Device as shipped in Dell Inspiron 15 computers. The vulnerability allows an attacker to bypass Windows Hello authentication by enrolling their own fingerprint using an unauthenticated configuration packet. This vulnerability occurs when enrolling via Linux, as the device does not follow the Secure Device Connection Protocol (SDCP). The potential danger of this vulnerability is high, as it enables unauthorized access to Windows systems. To remediate this vulnerability, it is recommended to install any available patches or updates provided by Dell or Goodix.
