Summary

CVE-2023-50386 is a vulnerability in Apache Solr, affecting versions 6.0.0 through 8.11.2 and 9.0.0 before 9.4.1. The vulnerability allows for the unrestricted upload of dangerous file types and improper control of dynamically-managed code resources. This means that attackers can upload Java jar and class files through the ConfigSets API, and if the backup is saved to a directory used by Solr's ClassPath/ClassLoaders, these files can be used by any ConfigSet, trusted or untrusted.
