Details
Summary
CVE-2023-50266 is a vulnerability in Bazarr, a software used for managing and downloading subtitles. In version 1.2.4, there is a flaw in the proxy method that allows user-controlled protocol and URL variables to be passed to requests.get() without proper validation, resulting in a blind server-side request forgery (SSRF) issue. This vulnerability enables an attacker to craft GET requests to internal and external resources on behalf of the server. Although version 1.3.1 provides a partial fix by limiting the vulnerability to HTTP/HTTPS protocols, organizations using affected versions should update to the latest version to mitigate the risk of potential attacks. The base severity of this vulnerability is rated as MEDIUM with a CVSS score of 5.3, indicating a moderate level of danger.
