Summary

CVE-2023-50251 is a vulnerability found in the php-svg-lib library prior to version 0.5.1. This vulnerability allows an attacker to cause the system to go into an infinite recursion when parsing attributes passed to a `use` tag inside an SVG document. Depending on the system configuration, this can lead to exhaustion of memory and resources, rendering the system unable to handle incoming requests. The issue can be remediated by updating to version 0.5.1 which contains a patch for this vulnerability. The severity of this vulnerability is rated as MEDIUM with a base score of 5.3 according to the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) version 3.1.
