Summary

CVE-2023-49802 is a vulnerability in the LinkedCustomFields plugin for MantisBT, affecting versions prior to 2.0.1. This vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks, enabling the execution of JavaScript code when a specially crafted Custom Field is linked via the plugin and displayed during issue reporting or editing. The issue has been fixed in version 2.0.1. As a workaround, users can utilize MantisBT's default Content Security Policy to block script execution. The vulnerability has a base severity of MEDIUM with a base score of 6.1 according to NIST's National Vulnerability Database (NVD). It requires no privileges and user interaction is required for exploitation. The attack vector is through the network, with low impact on integrity and confidentiality, and no impact on availability.
