Summary

CVE-2023-49294 is a vulnerability affecting Asterisk, an open-source private branch exchange and telephony toolkit. The vulnerability exists in versions prior to 18.20.1, 20.5.1, and 21.0.1 of Asterisk, as well as certified-asterisk prior to 18.9-cert6. It allows an attacker to read arbitrary files even when the `live_dangerously` feature is not enabled, potentially granting unauthorized access to sensitive information. The issue has been fixed in Asterisk versions 18.20.1, 20.5.1, and 21.0.1, as well as certified-asterisk prior to 18.9-cert6.
