Summary
CVE-2023-49168 is a Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Better Messages – Live Chat for WordPress, BuddyPress, PeepSo, Ultimate Member, and BuddyBoss. This issue, which allows stored XSS, stems from improper neutralization of input during web page generation. Specifically, user-supplied data is not adequately sanitized, leaving the door open for attackers to inject malicious scripts into chat messages. This vulnerability affects versions of the plugins from n/a to 2.4.0. Successful exploitation could result in unauthorized access, data theft, or other malicious activities.
