Summary
CVE-2023-49094 is a vulnerability affecting Symbolicator, a symbolication service for native stacktraces and minidumps with symbol server support. The vulnerability allows an attacker to send arbitrary GET HTTP requests to internal IP addresses by exploiting a specially crafted HTTP endpoint. If the attacker has an account on Sentry instance, they can reflect the response back to themselves. The issue has been resolved in release 23.11.2 of Symbolicator. The vulnerability has a risk score of 5 and a base severity of MEDIUM according to [email protected], with low privileges required and no user interaction needed. The impact includes low confidentiality impact and no integrity or availability impact. The Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) ID associated with this vulnerability is CWE-918, also known as Server Side Request Forgery.
