Summary

CVE-2023-49092 is a vulnerability in RustCrypto/RSA, a pure Rust implementation of RSA encryption. The vulnerability arises from a non-constant-time implementation, which allows an attacker to obtain information about the private key through timing information observed over the network. This could potentially lead to the recovery of the key by an attacker. Currently, there is no available fix for this vulnerability. As a workaround, it is recommended to avoid using the RSA crate in settings where timing information can be observed by potential attackers. This vulnerability has a medium severity rating and poses a high risk to organizations as it could result in the exposure of confidential information.
