Summary

CVE-2023-49083 is a vulnerability in the cryptography package for Python. The vulnerability can be exploited by calling `load_pem_pkcs7_certificates` or `load_der_pkcs7_certificates`, leading to a NULL-pointer dereference and segfault. This can result in a Denial of Service (DoS) attack, causing disruptions in system availability and stability. The vulnerability has been patched in version 41.0.6 of the package.
