Summary

CVE-2023-48708 is a vulnerability in CodeIgniter Shield, an authentication and authorization provider for CodeIgniter 4. The vulnerability allows successful login attempts to be recorded with raw tokens stored in the log table, which can be accessed by malicious individuals. By obtaining a raw token, these individuals can send requests with the user's authority. The issue has been resolved in version 1.0.0-beta.8, and users are advised to upgrade. Alternatively, users who are unable to upgrade should disable logging for successful login attempts through configuration files. This vulnerability poses a medium risk with high confidentiality impact, as stated by the National Vulnerability Database (NVD).
