Summary

CVE-2023-48691 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting Azure RTOS NetX Duo, a TCP/IP network stack for deeply embedded real-time and IoT applications. An out-of-bounds write issue exists in the affected stack, which, when exploited by an attacker, could result in remote code execution. The affected components include those involved in the Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) in RTOS v6.2.1 and below. Users are strongly advised to upgrade to NetX Duo release 6.3.0 to mitigate this risk. No known workarounds are currently available for this vulnerability.
