Summary

CVE-2023-48298 is an integer underflow vulnerability in the decompression of FPC codec in ClickHouse®, an open-source column-oriented database management system. This vulnerability can result in a stack buffer overflow and system crash. It can be exploited by an unauthenticated attacker. The affected products include several versions of ClickHouse® (uBU13Y, uBU13Z, uBU13a, uBU13b, uBU13c, uBU13d, uBU13e, uBU13f, uBU13U, uBU13V, uBU13W, uBU13X, and uBU13g). The base severity of this vulnerability is rated as HIGH with a CVSS score of 7.5. Remediation steps to address this vulnerability have not been provided.
