Summary
CVE-2023-4772 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Newsletter plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to and including 7.8.9, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions and above to inject arbitrary web scripts. The vulnerability arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the 'newsletter_form' shortcode. Successful exploitation enables the attacker to execute their malicious scripts whenever a user accesses an injected page.
