Summary

CVE-2023-47251, also known as CWE-22, is a vulnerability found in mprivacy-tools before version 2.0.406g in m-privacy TightGate-Pro Server. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with access to a VNC session to perform a Directory Traversal attack. By exploiting this vulnerability, attackers can move malicious PDF documents into the .spool directory and send a signal to the VNC service, which then automatically transfers the malicious files to the connected VNC client's filesystem. The base severity of this vulnerability is rated as MEDIUM with an exploitability score of 2.8 out of 10. The potential danger this vulnerability poses to organizations is primarily in terms of integrity impact, as it allows unauthorized access and transfer of malicious files within the system.
