Summary
CVE-2023-47231 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting versions 1.9.8 and below of the Bainternet ShortCodes UI plugin for Auth. (contributor+). An attacker can exploit this flaw by injecting malicious scripts into a website's input fields, allowing them to execute arbitrary code in users' browsers when they view the affected page. Successful exploitation could lead to information disclosure, unauthorized access, or other malicious activities. It is essential to update the plugin to a patched version to mitigate this risk.
