Summary

CVE-2023-4718 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Font Awesome 4 Menus plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to and including 4.7.0, arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the 'fa' and 'fa-stack' shortcodes. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this flaw to inject arbitrary web scripts, which then execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
