Summary

CVE-2023-4718 is a vulnerability found in the Font Awesome 4 Menus plugin for WordPress. This vulnerability affects versions up to and including 4.7.0 of the plugin. It is classified as a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability, caused by insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The affected products include several versions of vVeTRy, vVeTRw, vVeTRx, vVeTRr, vVeTRu, vVeTRv, snLzLp, vVeTRs, snLzLq, and vVeTRt. To remediate this issue, users are advised to update the Font Awesome 4 Menus plugin to a version higher than 4.7.0. This vulnerability poses a medium risk to organizations as it could be exploited to execute unauthorized scripts and potentially compromise the integrity and confidentiality of user data.
