Summary

CVE-2023-46857, also known as Squidex XSS vulnerability, affects Squidex versions before 7.9.0. This vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks through an SVG document uploaded to the Upload Assets feature. The issue arises from an incomplete blacklist in the SVG inspection, enabling the execution of JavaScript code through the SRC attribute of an IFRAME element. Exploitation of this vulnerability requires an authenticated attack with assets.create permission. Organizations using affected versions of Squidex should update to version 7.9.0 or later to remediate the vulnerability and prevent potential unauthorized access and manipulation of data on their web pages.
