Summary

CVE-2023-46814 is a binary hijacking vulnerability found in the VideoLAN VLC media player before version 3.0.19 on Windows. This vulnerability allows standard users to gain arbitrary code execution as SYSTEM by exploiting the uninstaller's attempt to execute code with elevated privileges from a user-writable location. It affects multiple products including pHA-8A, RgAzMu, jE3QHh, and jE3QHi. To remediate this vulnerability, users should update their VLC media player to version 3.0.19 or later.
