Summary

CVE-2023-46741 is a vulnerability found in CubeFS, an open-source cloud-native file storage system. The vulnerability, present in versions prior to 3.3.1, allows users to read sensitive data from the logs, potentially escalating their privileges. CubeFS leaks configuration keys in plaintext format in the logs, which can enable unauthorized operations on blobs. An attacker with access to the logs can delete blobs from the blob store, whether they are an internal user with limited privileges or an external user who has escalated their privileges. The recommended remediation is to upgrade to version 3.3.1 as there are no other known mitigations available for this vulnerability. This vulnerability poses a medium risk to organizations as it requires low privileges and user interaction but has low impact on integrity and confidentiality.
