Details
Summary
CVE-2023-46740 is a vulnerability in CubeFS, an open-source cloud-native file storage system, prior to version 3.3.1. The vulnerability arises from the use of an insecure random string generator to generate user-specific keys used for authentication. This could allow an attacker to predict and guess the generated string, enabling them to impersonate a user and gain higher privileges within a CubeFS deployment. The issue has been addressed in version 3.3.1, and the only mitigation is to upgrade to this version or later. The vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it can lead to unauthorized access and potential data breaches.
