Summary

CVE-2023-46739 is a vulnerability in the CubeFS master component, affecting versions prior to 3.3.1. This vulnerability allows an untrusted attacker to steal user passwords through a timing attack, due to the use of raw string comparison of passwords in CubeFS. The UserService of the master component is particularly vulnerable. The issue has been patched in version 3.3.1, and upgrading is the only way to mitigate the issue for impacted users. This vulnerability poses a medium risk with high confidentiality impact for organizations using affected versions of CubeFS.
