Summary

CVE-2023-46731 is a vulnerability affecting the XWiki Platform, a generic wiki platform used for building applications. The issue lies in the lack of proper escaping of the section URL parameter, which can be exploited by any user with read access to the `XWiki.AdminSheet` document. This can result in code execution, including Groovy code, leading to potential confidentiality, integrity, and availability risks for the entire XWiki instance. The vulnerability has been patched in versions XWiki 14.10.14, 15.6 RC1, and 15.5.1. Users unable to upgrade can apply the fix from commit `fec8e0e53f9` manually or remove view rights for guests on the `XWiki.AdminSheet` document.
