Details
Summary
CVE-2023-4646 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Simple Posts Ticker plugin for WordPress before version 1.1.6. This issue allows users with the contributor role and above to inject malicious scripts into posts or pages where the affected shortcode is used. The plugin fails to validate and escape certain shortcode attributes, resulting in the unsanitized data being output directly into the page. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to the execution of arbitrary code in the context of the affected website. Upgrading to the latest plugin version is recommended to mitigate this risk.
