Summary

CVE-2023-46303, also known as a Server Side Request Forgery vulnerability, has been identified in the calibre software before version 6.19.0. This vulnerability allows an attacker to add resources outside of the document root by exploiting the link_to_local_path function in ebooks/conversion/plugins/html_input.py. The affected products include k5HHCF, k5HHCE, k5HHCG, k5HHCD, XtSUdM, XtSUdN, XtSUdO, and many others listed in the source text. To remediate this vulnerability, it is recommended to update calibre to version 6.19.0 or later. The potential danger posed by this vulnerability is high with a base severity rating of HIGH and an integrity impact rating of HIGH as per NIST's CVSS score.
