Summary

CVE-2023-46290 is a vulnerability that affects the FactoryTalk® Services Platform web service. It allows an unauthorized threat actor to potentially obtain a local Windows OS user token, which can then be used to log into the FactoryTalk® Services Platform. However, this vulnerability can only be exploited if the authorized user has not previously logged into the web service. The vulnerability has a high severity rating and can have a significant impact on confidentiality and integrity. To remediate this issue, it is recommended to apply the necessary security updates or patches provided by Rockwell Automation, the vendor of FactoryTalk® Services Platform.
