Summary
CVE-2023-4623 is a use-after-free vulnerability impacting the Linux kernel's net/sched: sch_hfsc component. This issue allows local privilege escalation to occur when a class with a link-sharing curve (HFSC_FSC flag) has a parent without one. The vulnerability stems from an inconsistency between vttree_insert() and vttree_remove() functions, leading to a dangling pointer. It is strongly advised to upgrade past commit b3d26c5702c7d6c45456326e56d2ccf3f103e60f to mitigate this risk.
