Summary

CVE-2023-4616 is a newly disclosed vulnerability that puts LG LED Assistant installations at risk. No authentication is required for remote attackers to exploit this issue. The root cause lies in the /api/thumbnail endpoint, where user-supplied paths are not adequately validated before being employed in file operations. By exploiting this vulnerability, an attacker can disclose sensitive information in the context of the current user.
