Summary
CVE-2023-46117 is a newly identified vulnerability in the reconFTW tool, which is used for automated domain reconnaissance. The weakness lies in the inadequate validation of retrieved subdomains, allowing an attacker to inject a malicious Content Security Policy (CSP) entry on their own domain. This can result in Remote Code Execution (RCE), granting the attacker the ability to run arbitrary code within the application's context, potentially compromising the system. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.7.1.1 to mitigate this risk, as no known workarounds exist for this vulnerability.
