Summary
CVE-2023-46117 is a vulnerability in reconftw, a tool used for automated reconnaissance on target domains. The vulnerability allows for a Remote Code Execution (RCE) attack due to inadequate validation of retrieved subdomains. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by creating a malicious Content Security Policy (CSP) entry on their own domain. Successful exploitation of the vulnerability can result in arbitrary code execution within the application, potentially compromising the system. The issue has been addressed in version 2.7.1.1, and users are advised to upgrade to this version to remediate the vulnerability. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability, and it affects various products listed under the affected_products field.
