Details
Summary
CVE-2023-45819 is a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability found in TinyMCE's Notification Manager API. This vulnerability affects various products, including e3od2m, e3od2n, e3od2k, and more. The issue arises from TinyMCE's unfiltered notification system, which allows carefully crafted malicious content to be executed as arbitrary JavaScript when a notification is opened. The danger lies in the potential for an attacker to exploit this vulnerability and execute unauthorized actions on the affected systems or gain access to sensitive information. To remediate this issue, users are advised to upgrade to TinyMCE 5.10.8 or TinyMCE 6.7.1, as these versions sanitize the HTML displayed in notifications, preventing the exploit from occurring.
