Summary

CVE-2023-45675 is a vulnerability found in the stb_vorbis library, a single file MIT licensed library used for processing ogg vorbis files. This vulnerability arises from an out-of-bounds write issue that can be triggered by a crafted file. The root cause of the issue is a discrepancy in behavior when the `f->alloc.alloc_buffer` is pre-allocated. Instead of returning NULL as in the case of malloc, the pre-allocated buffer is shifted by zero and returned as currently available memory. Exploiting this vulnerability could potentially lead to code execution. The affected product is tJ8-vZ. The severity of this vulnerability is rated as MEDIUM with a base score of 6.5 according to CVSS version 3.1.
