Summary

CVE-2023-45373 is a vulnerability affecting the ProofreadPage extension in MediaWiki versions before 1.35.12, 1.36.x through 1.39.x before 1.39.5, and 1.40.x before 1.40.1. This issue allows for Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks to occur through the use of the 'formatNumNoSeparators' function. An attacker could inject malicious code into a webpage, potentiallystealing sensitive user information, altering data, or gaining unauthorized access to a user's session. Users are encouraged to upgrade their MediaWiki installations to the latest patched version to mitigate this risk.
