Summary
CVE-2023-4523 is a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Real Time Automation 460 Series products with versions below 8.9.8. An attacker can exploit this issue by injecting malicious JavaScript code into a URL, which could be executed in the gateway's HTTP interface when the user is redirected to the index.htm page. Successful exploitation could lead to unintended execution of arbitrary code, resulting in potential security risks for affected organizations. It is strongly recommended to update the affected products to the latest version, v8.9.8 or above, to mitigate this vulnerability.
