Summary

CVE-2023-45158 is an OS command injection vulnerability that affects web2py 2.24.1 and earlier versions. The vulnerability allows an attacker to execute arbitrary OS commands on the web server by sending a crafted web request, but it only affects the product when configured to use notifySendHandler for logging (which is not the default configuration). To remediate this vulnerability, users should upgrade to a fixed version of web2py. The potential danger posed by this vulnerability is high, as it could allow attackers to gain unauthorized access to the web server and potentially compromise the confidentiality and integrity of the organization's data.
