Summary

CVE-2023-4497 is a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting Easy Chat Server version 3.1 and earlier. The issue stems from insufficient input encryption, enabling an attacker to inject malicious code into user-controlled inputs, specifically the Icon parameter in the /registresult.htm (POST method) page. The XSS payload is then executed from the /users.ghp location, posing a significant security risk to users interacting with the affected chat server.
