Summary

CVE-2023-44388 is a vulnerability that affects Discourse, an open source platform for community discussion. A malicious request can cause production log files to quickly fill up, leading to the server running out of disk space. The issue has been patched in the 3.1.1 stable and 3.2.0.beta2 versions of Discourse. As a temporary workaround, organizations can reduce the `client_max_body_size nginx directive` to limit the size of uploads directly to the server. The vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it can result in denial of service by exhausting available disk space on the server.
