Summary

CVE-2023-4423 is a vulnerability affecting the WP Event Manager – Events Calendar, Registrations, Sell Tickets with WooCommerce plugin for WordPress, specifically versions up to and including 3.1.37.1. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts via admin settings, leading to stored cross-site scripting. This can occur in multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled. The potential danger of this vulnerability lies in the execution of injected scripts whenever a user accesses an affected page. To remediate this vulnerability, users are advised to update to the latest version of the plugin and ensure that input sanitization and output escaping are properly implemented.
