Summary

CVE-2023-44195 is an Improper Restriction of Communication Channel vulnerability in the NetworkStack agent daemon (nsagentd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated network-based attacker to cause limited impact to the availability of the system. Specifically, certain packets that reach the Routing-Engine (RE) will be processed even if firewall filters should have prevented them, leading to a potential Denial-of-Service (DoS) and unauthorized access. The affected products include various versions of Junos OS Evolved, and remediation involves updating to the recommended versions specified in the advisory. The danger posed to organizations is a possible disruption of service and unauthorized access to sensitive resources.
