Summary
CVE-2023-44084 is a vulnerability found in Tecnomatix Plant Simulation V2201 (all versions < V2201.0009) and Tecnomatix Plant Simulation V2302 (all versions < V2302.0003). It is a high-severity vulnerability that allows an attacker to execute code in the context of the current process. The vulnerability occurs due to an out of bounds read past the end of an allocated structure while parsing specially crafted SPP files. The affected products include srjKEn, s9ybcy, srjKEm, and s9ybcx. To remediate the vulnerability, users should update their software to versions V2201.0009 or higher for Tecnomatix Plant Simulation V2201 and V2302.0003 or higher for Tecnomatix Plant Simulation V2302. If left unpatched, this vulnerability poses a significant danger to organizations as it can be exploited to gain unauthorized access and potentially compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems.
