Summary

CVE-2023-43662 is a vulnerability affecting ShokoServer, a media server designed for organizing anime. In certain versions, the `/api/Image/WithPath` endpoint can be accessed without authentication, allowing unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary files stored on the server. This issue is particularly severe in the Windows installer, which installs ShokoServer as an administrator. The vulnerability has been addressed in commit `6c57ba0f0` and will be included in future releases. In the meantime, users are advised to limit access to the `/api/Image/WithPath` endpoint or manually patch their installations. The vulnerability was discovered by the GitHub Security lab and has a base severity score of HIGH.
