Summary
CVE-2023-43628 is a newly identified vulnerability that affects the NTRIP Stream Parsing functionality in GPSd 3.25.1~dev. This issue involves an integer underflow that can result in memory corruption. A malicious actor can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted network packet to trigger the underflow condition, potentially leading to memory corruption and unintended system behavior. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial-of-service condition. Users of affected GPSd versions are advised to apply the forthcoming patch as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
