Details
Summary
CVE-2023-43615 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting Mbed TLS 2.x up to version 2.28.5 and Mbed TLS 3.x up to version 3.5.0. An attacker who successfully exploits this vulnerability can cause the targeted application to crash or execute arbitrary code, potentially leading to serious security implications. The buffer overflow is triggered due to insufficient bounds checking during TLS handshake, allowing an attacker to overflow a stack-allocated buffer. It is strongly recommended that users of these affected versions of Mbed TLS upgrade to the patched versions as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
