Summary

CVE-2023-4309 is a critical vulnerability affecting Election Services Co. (ESC) Internet Election Service. The vulnerability is related to SQL injection in multiple pages and parameters, which allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to read or modify data for any elections that share the same backend database. To mitigate this vulnerability, ESC has deactivated older and unused elections and implemented web application firewall (WAF) protection for current and future elections. This vulnerability poses a high potential danger to organizations as it can lead to unauthorized access and manipulation of sensitive election data.
