Summary
CVE-2023-43044 is a vulnerability affecting IBM License Metric Tool version 9.2. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a maliciously crafted URL request containing "dot dot" sequences (/../). This allows the attacker to traverse directories on the system and potentially view arbitrary files, according to IBM's X-Force ID 266893. This vulnerability poses a risk to system security and confidentiality, making it important for IBM License Metric Tool users to apply the available patch or upgrade to a non-vulnerable version as soon as possible.
