CVE-2023-42804 is a path traversal vulnerability found in BigBlueButton, an open-source virtual classroom software. The vulnerability exists in versions prior to 2.6.0-beta.1 and allows an attacker with a valid starting folder path to access and read files without authentication, as long as the files have specific extensions (txt, swf, svg, png). In the latest version, input validation was added to prevent this vulnerability. There are no known workarounds for this issue.
