Summary

CVE-2023-42796 is a vulnerability found in CP-8031 MASTER MODULE and CP-8050 MASTER MODULE, affecting all versions lower than CPCI85 V05.11. The web server of these devices does not properly sanitize user input for the /sicweb-ajax/tmproot/ endpoint, which could allow an authenticated remote attacker to traverse directories and download arbitrary files. This vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it can be exploited to escalate privileges to the administrator role.
