Summary
CVE-2023-42796 is a vulnerability affecting the web server of CP-8031 and CP-8050 Master Modules (all versions prior to CPCI85 V05.11). The issue lies in the failure to sanitize user input for the /sicweb-ajax/tmproot/ endpoint, which could enable an authenticated attacker to traverse directories and download arbitrary files. This vulnerability may also potentially be exploited to escalate privileges to the administrator role by exploring active session IDs.
